Summary |
The Senior Accountant (Contract) will support the finance department through day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and process support during a temporary coverage period of up to six months. This role will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting both U.S. and international accounting functions.
Job Description |
Accounts Receivable (A/R) Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform account reconciliations including bank, credit card, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes as needed.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.
- Support international accounting activities and intercompany transactions.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Assist with payroll-related reconciliations and financial reporting support.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, HR, and leadership teams.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and reporting requests as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and company information.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting.
- Experience preparing reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or related accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or international operations.
- Experience working in small to mid-sized businesses.
- Familiarity with IFRS or GAAP reporting standards.
- CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred.
- Experience supporting international accounting functions.
